This year the offer of the stall holders is more diverse than ever before. Delicious smells of chocolate, wood and even lebkuchen can be smelled on all corners of the market. Everywhere you look, there are beautiful things to look at that you can have a friendly chat about with the vendor. Austrian producers offer their crafts or sell delicious delicacies. Unusual surprises such as chocolate in the shape of lifelike everyday objects can be found

as well as the traditional presents, for example a wooden toy with a natural finish. You can spend pleasant days and atmospheric evenings with all your loved ones and friends at the Wiener Christkindlmarkt, especially with this festive programme: At the Christkindl stage, directly below the grand Christmas tree you can visit Punch and the Christ Child and listen to choirs and trumpeters.

Christkindlmarkt Plan

In order to be able to prepare the visit at the Christkindlmarkt at the Rathausplatz, there is an interactive plan. When moving the mouse pointer over the colored dots, the special products sold by this stand appear. The list is by no means to be seen as complete. Just go ahead and experience the whole product variety.

Advent season with tradition:
The Christmas tree in front of the City Hall

This year’s Christmas tree for the Rathausplatz comes from Frastanz. It is donated to Vienna by the federal state of Vorarlberg.

The spruce, which grew to a proud height of 25 meters, is 70 years old. The tree will be ceremoniously illuminated on 18th November by Viennas mayor Michael Häupl.
